COMPLIMENTARY COACHING OFFER
FOUND: SIX MATURE MAGNIFICENT WOMEN…
whom we are coaching to make the change they are looking for in their life!
Update November 11, 2008
OUR SECOND TELECLASS
Prior to our second teleclass we had asked the six magnificent women we are coaching to prepare for the call by thinking about what they learned about themselves as they worked their way through Section One of Your Life Your Way. We realize that certain exercises warrant repeating after a period of time has elapsed. As people become increasingly self-aware, they are often able to see themselves differently and come up with additional information to help them grow even more. It’s a spiral of learning.
Everyone had reflected and the variation in answers was there to remind us of everyone’s uniqueness and personal journey through life. What they did have in common however was a growing awareness of views and beliefs about themselves that were holding them back. For one woman, fear was a huge issue – mainly the fear of change. This is something we shall be writing more about, along with the other ‘biggy’ – that of asking for help.
When you HAVE to ask for help simply because there are some things you physically cannot do, it’s easy to fall into believing that you have somehow used up your store of requests. We’ll explore different perspectives on this in a future blog post.
Because of the age demographic with which we are working, it is not surprising that another constraint was the sense of ‘running out of time’! By this stage in life we are well aware of our own mortality and yet feeling the need to ‘rush and push’ makes for an uneasy life. Realizing that they are at choice to set their own pace, and that the pace needs to vary if it is to serve them fully, was very important for all the women in the group.
The second part of the teleclass focused on Section Two in the book where we ask readers to look at the different energies – physical, spiritual, intuitive, communicative and the energy that comes from experience. We wanted to hear what individual members of the group were ‘tapping into’ more than before, and what difference it was making. Interestingly it was intuitive creative energy and communicative energies that came to the fore. There was, however, recognition and valuing of accomplishments and experiences to date. Let’s remember that nothing is wasted if we are willing to learn from our experiences and bring our learning to our relationship with others.
We mention the body and its messages a lot in the book, so it was good to hear these women talking about their feelings which are, in fact, expressions of the body. More important than simply noticing, they were listening to and interpreting these feelings in order to help them in their decision-making. It is normal for us to learn to ignore the messages our bodies are giving us and prefer to appeal to our logical, more rational mind. And good as rational thinking is, there is no doubt that it can also get in our way.
The emerging thread around communicative energy was a growing awareness of impact when communicating with other people. One of the women spoke enthusiastically about her increased awareness of getting her point across without offending people first. This latter is a common occurrence in our madly busy world where getting the task done takes priority over everything else. Talking to, or worse still, ‘at’ somebody does not mean you are in relationship. Being in relationship is the foundation to good communications, so, as we say, ‘meeting the other person where they are’ is crucially important . . . and it’s an art for life.
We reminded the women that our energies need to be managed, both to access them and to replenish them. As one of the group so eloquently expressed, “it’s important to give yourself time to smell the roses”.
Their next task is to clearly identify and articulate the change they want to see in their lives.

OUR FIRST TELECLASS
Saturday September 13 saw eight disparate and magnificent women come together in conference thanks to the wonders of Skype technology. Julie Molner in Michigan and Lynn Hull in France were holding the first session of their complimentary coaching offer that includes three teleclasses. The six women chosen to participate in this project live as far apart as California and New York, Florida and Wisconsin, Massachusetts and Georgia. What unites them is their desire as mature, magnificent women to make some significant change or changes in order to bring greater fulfilment and balance to their lives.
Your Life, Your Way: The Essential Guide for Women is the framework for their growth process and each participant had been asked prior to the first class to read just the first 17 pages which include two key exercises:
List ten or more things you’ve wanted to do or try out.
Who Am I?
The list of ten exercise has you look forward and, somewhat paradoxically, articulate those dreams you have set aside with the passage of years or which you believed were not attainable and so bring them again onto your radar screen.
Who Am I ? on the other hand has a very different energy and starts the introspection process, having you think through the layers. You start with the outer layer listing the various roles you play. Next you consider how other people see you or how you portray yourself, and finally you take a look at who you really are at your core.
We asked the six women to share what had happened while they were in the process of doing the exercises, not the details of the outcomes, for this is unique to each participant. Looking at the process is often where the learning lies.
If you have the book, we encourage you to do these exercises (page 9 and page 14), even repeat them, and pay particular attention to the feelings that come up for you.
Update September 9, 2008
These women are 50 years of age or older and are ready and willing to take the steps necessary to make the changes that will fulfill their desires and dreams. The coaching is being conducted on an individual basis and also includes three group sessions. Our book “Your Life Your Way” is the framework we are using to support and encourage the women to succeed in achieving their goals.
