About Us

Your Life Your WayWe, Lynn Hull and Julie Molner, are two certified professional co-active coaches, who are in our mid-years and have co-authored a book titled Your Life Your Way: The Essential Guide for Women.  The essence of this book is that life is to be lived to the fullest and dreams are to be pursued with passion!

Before you do a “Scrooge” on us and say “Bah, humbug”, let us say that dreams are not just for children and a dream is not the same as a fantasy or wish.  A dream is something that is doable and not beyond what is humanly possible for the individual concerned, whereas a fantasy holds no possibility.  A wish on the other hand is no more than a thought because we align no actions to this thought.  And alignment is key—if you want your dream to become a reality, you must get clear on what you want, envision it, feel it AND then behave and take action that is in alignment with it.

We wrote our book for women approaching fifty or older because it’s a subject that we have a fair knowledge about!   We endeavor at all times to “walk our talk”.  We would love to see more women designing their lives and living in a way they deserve.  And, at the same time, we know that the principles and techniques we use in our book apply to women of all ages and to men as well.  The testimonials we’ve received vouch for this. How did we get together? Lynn is British and has lived most of her life in the UK although she and her husband Alan now live in the Hautes Pyrenees region of France.  They have one lovely and extremely talented daughter who is a musician and lives in London.  Julie has lived all her life in the Detroit Metropolitan Area of Michigan and is married to Wayne.  They have two wonderful sons (married to women who are like daughters), a beautiful daughter and one precious granddaughter, all living in the Detroit area.

Neither of us had much support from our families of origin to help us be the best we could be; to help us identify what we wanted.  In spite of this, we both have personalities and inner strength that had us continually striving for more learning throughout our lives.  However, it was when we were approaching the age of fifty that we managed to assert ourselves much more to grow spiritually, personally and professionally.  That is when we both really started stepping out and taking risks that led to fulfillment and satisfaction.

Although we were each on our own separate paths, lived thousands of miles apart and didn’t even know the other existed, synchronicity set in and our paths crossed in 2002.  As a result of our coach training we had each independently decided to participate in the Co-Active Leadership training program in California.  We guess the universe knew that we both had to be at the same program.  It required that we attend four retreats (duration of each was five or six days) and complete homework in between the retreats—all within a ten-month period.  One of our homeworks was to team up with another participant and conduct a co-active workshop based on shared passions.  That’s when Lynn and Julie teamed up and designed and conducted a workshop for women in the Detroit area titled “Hey Lady, Welcome to The Second Half”.  What a hoot—the ladies who attended enjoyed themselves while taking away some serious learning.  So did we!

Out of these workshop ideas came the book.  Working together has been a fascinating process and we have learned so much about Working in Harmony that we have produced our own 10 Steps to share with others.  You can read it here on our blog; it is listed under Articles.  We’ve certainly learned how to be “clueless” and trust that we’ll find a way.  So much so that our motto is now “There’s always a way”!
